Send Your Kids To Schools With Open Lawns For An Enhanced Learning

Children who go to schools with a large playground and that give a better exposure to Nature are found to perform better at school. Looking out of the classroom windows and seeing Nature at its best does seem to have some positive effect on the attention and focus kids can pay at school. Their intelligence was found to be more than the kids who go to schools that don't have a green playground.

Kids who were not regularly exposed to Nature had an innate tendency to get caught up by depression and anxiety. Such problems never have a single origin, but lack of nature is an added issue. This may be an explanation why children do better in schools with elaborate lawns and gardens.

This is quite the opposite to living in urban centers, where there is a virtual concrete jungle, with little or no greenery. The realization is aggravated by the fact that nearly 50 per cent of human population lives in such concrete jungles. And the number is believed to be shooting up on a regular basis. It is supposed to be almost 70 per cent by the end of 2050.

The problem is compounded when one considers the association of stress-inducing factors like noise, pollution, traffic, etc with such urban areas. Living in cities is certainly more stressful than living in rural areas. Those born and brought up in urban areas are more likely to develop depression and schizophrenia than their counterparts brought  up in the country. Studies reveal that a minimal daily exposure to Nature is more likely to keep you away from stress.
