Are rich kids smarter or not ?

Some scientists have been doing a research in order to find out if rich kids are smarter than poorer children.

The answer is - yes. Previous research has already shown that, and it turned out that kids from richer families are truly smarter.

Scanning images of the brain have showed that richer children have thicker cerebral cortex in areas related to visual perception and accumulation of knowledge.

Even some professors agree with this, claiming that people who are not rich, have to pay a price for not living the way they suppose to live.

There has been an experiment with 58 children, between the age of twelve and thirteen. 23 children were coming from poor families, which is why they've been receiving free snacks.

Their test scores were compared with recordings of their cerebral cortex - a wrinkled outer layer of the brain which is essential for functioning of  our thoughts, speech, sensory perception and motor abilities.

After they had seen the results, they discovered that poorer children had much worse results than the richer ones, and their cerebral cortex is different.

A lot of parents started panicking because they have thought that this is something permanent and 100 percent true.

Don't worry, scientists have also added that these differences are definitely NOT lasting because our brain is changing all the time.

If you ask us, this fact is something that could or couldn't be true because there are a lot of geniuses who didn't come from rich homes.
